As Salamualikum! 

we would like to provide everyone with an update to what has transpired since the creation of this petition. 

After strong advocacy from our attorney, the judge agreed to a plan that ensures a transparent and fair process moving forward. Here’s what was decided:

• A 30-day membership drive at $150 per member. (Less than 2 weeks from now) 
• One person from both boards will oversee membership.
• One person from both boards will oversee the election.
• One person from both boards will sit on the Shura until elections are complete.
• Elections will take place the 2nd week of November.
• ⁠The judge will be watching the whole process to keep it fair.

What you need to do: 

At this point we have less than two weeks for everyone to become a member. Being a member is crucial as it allows one to vote in our election which determines who will run the masjid. Think about all the activities, ambitions, and goals that could be in place with the right leadership. 

We encourage everyone to become a member before May 10th in order to participate in the crucial November election. May 10th is the cut off date, after this date whoever becomes a member will most likely not be able to participate in the election. 

To avoid making this too long, we’ve created a WhatsApp group for everyone to join and ask questions they might have regarding this process. We will also explain membership requirements in great detail there.
