Save Our Masjid!

Save Our Masjid!
The Issue
السلام عليكم ورحمة الله وبركاته
As many of you are aware, our masjid is currently facing a leadership transition that has become complicated and contentious. A new board was recently elected in accordance with the masjid’s bylaws.
The dedicated volunteers, whom you often see organizing iftar gatherings, coordinating lectures with visiting scholars, and planning Eid festivals, are eager to continue serving the masjid in a more official capacity.
However, challenges remain. The previous board, which has been in place for over a decade, is contesting the transition and has taken legal action to prevent the new board from assuming its duties. The legal action seeks a permanent ban and $250,000 in damages, which has placed a significant strain on our community and disrupted ongoing efforts to improve and expand our programs.
Why this matters:
• A smooth transition of leadership is essential for maintaining unity and progress within our community.
• Prolonged conflict risks creating division and distraction from the mission of the masjid.
• Legal battles of this magnitude can drain resources that would otherwise be used to support our programs and services.
What we are asking:
We are urging all community members to sign this petition to show support for the newly elected board and ensure they can operate without interference from the previous administration. While the legal process will ultimately determine the outcome, community voices can help highlight the importance of allowing the new board to move forward and serve the community effectively.
Our hope is not just to change leadership but to ensure that the masjid remains a welcoming, inclusive, and thriving space for everyone.
Jazakum Allahu Khairan for your continued support and dedication to our community. May Allah guide us toward a resolution that strengthens our bonds and brings lasting peace to our masjid.
