I have been liaising with the relevant stakeholders.

The CEO of Australia Post has contacted me and expressed concerns about the closure of their branch in Chadstone Shopping Centre, citing issues with the lease extension.

The Director of Chadstone Shopping Centre management team has also contacted me and has expressed keen interest in renewing their lease.

Despite the looming closure date of June 21, we still hold on to hope for them to negotiate a new lease within Chadstone Shopping Centre. Australia Post is an essential tenant whose services are crucial for our community. Their presence significantly enhances the convenience and service offerings at Chadstone shopping centre.

I have kindly requested immediate intervention from both parties to resolve this matter. They need to negotiate a reasonable rental agreement. If necessary, we urge Chadstone Management Office to consider offering a smaller shop space to ensure that this essential service can remain operational.
