🇸🇬 Save our Livelihood, Save Our Jobs from being taken by Foreigners (Crane OpR & WSH)

🇸🇬 Save our Livelihood, Save Our Jobs from being taken by Foreigners (Crane OpR & WSH)
The Issue
Save our Jobs, Save Our Ricebowl, Save Our Livelihood. If all our jobs are being taken away by the Foreign Telents, how are we singaporean and our families are going to survive? We have so many crane operators who are still having difficulties getting a job due to strict requirement by LTA & HDB, and yet those foreigner can easily go in and steal our jobs. Where is the fairness? We paid thousands of dollars to get ourself qualified. To earn a honest living, and to improve our economy by spending locally. But yet, our goverment easily let those foreign talents steals our jobs.
As a crane operator myself & having lots of friends being a crane operators and safety personnel, I understand firsthand the dedication and investment it takes to become certified and skilled in operating a crawler crane & getting the necessary qualification of being a CCO & WSH personnel. Many Singaporeans, including myself, have spent thousands of dollars and countless hours to earn this certification. It is not just a job, but a crucial means of livelihood that supports our families and contributes to the local economy.
Recently, there has been a growing trend of foreign individuals being allowed to operate crawler cranes & becoming safety coordinator or even safety officers in Singapore, facilitated by the Ministry of Manpower. This practice is not only diminishing job opportunities for local crane operators & safety personnel but also undermines the sacrifices and investments that we have made in pursuing this career.
Statistics from the Ministry of Manpower reveal that foreign workers in skilled trades have been on the rise, creating an imbalance in job availability for qualified local professionals. This not only impacts our financial stability but also harms our pride and dignity as skilled workers.
To ensure that Singaporean crane operators & WSH personnel are prioritized for these positions, I strongly urge the Ministry of Manpower to reconsider their policies regarding the issuance of licenses to foreign crane operators & making it more strict for foreigner to become a WSH personnel. By limiting the issuance of these permits, we can preserve local employment and uphold the high standards of professionalism that our training programs offer.
Join me in taking action to protect the jobs and livelihoods of Singaporean crane operators. Sign this petition to urge the Ministry of Manpower to prioritize local workers and enforce stricter regulations on foreign crane operator permits & WAH personnel. Your signature is a step forward in securing the future of local skilled tradespeople. Please sign and share this petition today.
