Save Wakefield East Ward's Local Boots Pharmacy!

Save Wakefield East Ward's Local Boots Pharmacy!
The Issue
Please make sure you share the link using your platforms! This is a local issue with national implications! If this closure goes ahead, it could trigger a domino effect, leading to the closure of many local Boots / Pharmacy stores across the country.
That's why I'm calling on everyone to sign this petition and send a powerful message against these closures!
Residents of Wakefield East Ward & residents across Wakefield District are deeply troubled by the imminent closure of our Boots Pharmacy. We urge the decision-makers to reconsider this detrimental action that will have severe consequences for our community.
1. Accessibility for Local Residents: The closure of Boots Pharmacy will leave us with only one pharmacy in the area, causing inconvenience and long waiting times for prescriptions. This is especially problematic for elderly residents, families with young children, and those without access to private transportation.
2. Vital Support for Non-Drivers: Many individuals in our community do not own cars or have limited mobility due to disabilities or health conditions. The two Boots Pharmacies currently provide essential services within walking distance or a short bus ride away, ensuring everyone has equal access to healthcare.
3. Years of Dedicated Service: The staff at both Boots Pharmacies have been an integral part of our community for years, building trust and providing exceptional care to all who seek their assistance. Losing these experienced professionals would be a significant loss to our neighborhood's wellbeing.
4. Public Transport Accessibility: Both pharmacies are conveniently located near bus stops, making them easily accessible even for those without personal vehicles. This accessibility ensures that people can reach these vital healthcare services affordably and efficiently.
5. Vibrant Community Preservation: By keeping both Boots Pharmacies open, we contribute to maintaining a vibrant local area where essential services are readily available. This helps deter anti-social behavior by fostering a sense of belonging and security among residents.
These are just a few points mentioned but the list is countless.
We implore the decision-makers responsible for this closure to consider the negative impact it will have on our community's health and well-being if they proceed as planned in October.
Together we can make a difference! Let's save our boots pharmacy!
The two local Boots pharmacies, which are at risk of closure, are: 82 upper Warrengate , Wakefield, WF1 4JZ (this is near Warrengate Medical centre) & 64A Windhill Rd, Wakefield WF1 4SD (this is near Eastmoor Health Centre).
They plan to close both stores by 6th October 2023 (Source: Staff member)
