I have been caring for a beautiful lemon tree on the nature strip of Osborne Road in Manly, NSW for the last 3-4 years. This well-settled tree has become an uplifting feature of our street and is loved by locals and passersby alike. However, due to a recent complaint after someone walked into it, our local council became aware of it’s existence and are now directing us to remove it, citing rules against fruit trees.
