Save our bar and grill in Lansing, Illinois
The Issue
Help Keep Our Lansing Bar & Grill Open
Our beloved Mingles bar and grill, located in the heart of Lansing, Illinois, is more than just a place to enjoy great food and drinks—it is a gathering place where friendships are built, memories are made, and our community comes together. For years, we have proudly served Lansing while supporting not only our family but also the 40 to 50 employees who rely on this business to provide for themselves and their families.
Recently, our future has been placed in jeopardy following a tragic incident that occurred in the parking lot near our establishment. Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this event. While the incident occurred outside our business, we respectfully ask that our establishment be evaluated based on the facts surrounding our operations and our long-standing commitment to operating responsibly.
Closing our doors would have devastating consequences. Dozens of hardworking employees would lose their jobs, families would lose a source of income, local vendors would lose a valued customer, and Lansing would lose a business that has served the community for years. We have invested our time, resources, and passion into creating a welcoming place where people can gather responsibly.
Throughout our years in business, we have remained committed to the safety of our customers, employees, and neighbors. We have consistently worked to maintain a safe environment and are fully prepared to continue strengthening our security measures. We are willing to work alongside the Village of Lansing and the Lansing Police Department by implementing additional security personnel, expanding camera coverage, improving lighting, coordinating with law enforcement, and taking any other reasonable steps necessary to help ensure the safety of our patrons and the surrounding community.
We believe businesses should be judged by their own actions and compliance with the law. We respectfully ask that any decisions regarding our future be based on documented facts, a fair review of our history, and our demonstrated willingness to be part of the solution.
Our business is more than a bar and grill—it is a source of employment, a contributor to the local economy, and a place where neighbors gather to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, sporting events, and everyday moments together. Shutting us down would not erase what happened, but it would permanently affect dozens of innocent employees, their families, and countless loyal customers who have supported us over the years.
We respectfully ask the Village of Lansing, community leaders, and our neighbors to stand with us. Give us the opportunity to continue serving our community, strengthen our safety efforts, and remain a positive part of Lansing for years to come.
By signing this petition, you are supporting local jobs, small businesses, fairness, and due process. You are asking our local leaders to consider the facts, recognize our commitment to the community, and allow our business to remain open while continuing to work toward a safer Lansing for everyone.
Thank you for your support.
