Stop Psychotherapy Takeover
Sep 21, 2015
Even the enforcers of Big Pharma’s latest takeover attempt call this scam’s key legal mechanism a ‘conundrum’:
“From the day it first appeared in draft legislation, the controlled act of psychotherapy has caused a lot of head-scratching. It’s a bit of a conundrum, to say the least…” — Joyce Rowlands, Registrar, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), in CRPO’s 2012-2013 Annual Report (http://www.stoppsychotherapytakeover.ca/crpos-2012-2013-annual-report/).
“From day one, the proposed controlled act has been controversial, as its wording is (perhaps) overly broad, and subject to wide interpretation.
Those with long memories, who have followed the long and winding road to regulation, including the HPRAC* consultations in 2005, may recall that the advisory council recommended against a controlled act.” — Joyce Rowlands, Registrar, College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), in CRPO’s 2014-2015 Annual Report (http://www.stoppsychotherapytakeover.ca/crpos-2014-2015-annual-report/).
Imagine that any day, we holistic, traditional, spiritual care and totally safe practitioners will be unable to talk with you about any issue, even though there is not a single iota of evidence that our treatments are anything but safe. So, we cannot emphasize more strongly: WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW….please contribute at www.StopPsychotherapyTakeover.ca where you can also get the background on this crisis.
The psychotherapy legislation has been exposed as an unlawful and fraudulent crime being perpetrated on Ontarians. It puts our health at great risk and everyone’s life in a cradle-to-grave for-profit medical system that is now the #1 killer and disabler of North Americans and is surpassing street drug cartels as the most prolific creator of drug addicts.
The ‘enforcers’ at CRPO have repeatedly advised that they will not define the terminology contained in this law, nor will they provide lists of Ontario’s outlawed “psychotherapeutic” activities. Instead, they will ‘wing it’ with ‘interpretative guidelines’.
BUT, CRPO's Annual Report 2012-13 (page 9-10) stated that it had already started the witch-hunts:
"…our Registration Committee spent many months conducting research to identify practitioners in the broader health and social service sectors whose work may involve the controlled act of psychotherapy. We found that such practitioners tended to cluster into two groups: those whose primary practice is psychotherapy and those whose foundational training is in a related field and whose practice overlaps psychotherapy, e.g. addiction counsellors, children’s mental health workers."
So on one hand they claim ignorance about who will be targeted, but on the other hand, they have already identified the victims and divided them into groups. Can this scheme get any more sick then this?
In other words, the witch-hunts will blind-side anyone, at any time, as the unaccountable enforcers see fit.
Even more disturbingly, these ‘enforcers’ are completely unaccountable and free to interfere in the work of Ontario’s holistic community by imposing restrictions on personal liberties without justification and on mere opinion soaked in conflict of interests:
“Please note that the College is independent from the government and as such, neither the minister nor Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care staff may become involved in the direct affairs of the College as this may be interpreted as breaching the independence and integrity of the College’s legislated mandate.” – August 2015. Health System Labour Relations and Regulatory Policy Branch Alison Henry, Director (A) (http://www.stoppsychotherapytakeover.ca/letter-from-ministry-of-health-and-long-term-care-august-2015/).
The only thing clear about this legislation is that a witch-hunt of epic proportions has been plotted against Ontario’s natural and holistic healing community and the ‘enforcers’ at CRPO will soon be collecting victims, if the controlled act of psychotherapy legislation is not repealed.
To understand how serious this is, imagine that not one person of your choice is permitted to assist you with your diet, lifestyle changes, or spiritual issues, or to provide counseling or natural treatments that you may have come to prefer.
Imagine that instead, you must see a psychiatrist, psychologist or registered psychotherapist and accept a diagnosis and eventually a drug prescription for ANY issue.
We need to help one another end the medical tyranny in Ontario---lives depend on free choice and the unrestricted ability of everyone to share their healthcare and wellness knowledge, experience and wisdom freely, as is guaranteed by the Constitution.
Please contribute to our legal fund before it is too late and more practitioners close up shop or leave the province. To contribute and learn the ways you can help: www.StopPsychotherapyTakeover.ca
The goal is simple: have this unlawful psychotherapy legislation repealed and ‘safe harbor’ legislation installed to prevent witch-hunts. We cannot do it without you!
