The fight to save Old Bank House continues — the fight isn’t over yet.

There has been quite a bit happening behind the scenes since my last update.

Our concerns about the proposed relocation of ARCH from Old Bank House have now been formally raised with CNWL and their solicitors, Weightmans. We have responded with further evidence and detailed questions about the decision, and we are currently awaiting their response.

We have also had some encouraging support from Danny Beales MP, who has agreed to raise the concerns directly with CNWL. It’s good to see our concerns being taken seriously and being raised at a higher level.

We’re continuing to use the information obtained through Freedom of Information requests, alongside the documents provided by CNWL, to make sure the decision is properly scrutinised and that the impact on ARCH service users is not overlooked.

This isn’t simply about a building. Old Bank House has provided a familiar, safe and welcoming environment for people in recovery for many years. It has offered space for support, community, privacy and connection — things that matter enormously to people using the service.

There is still a long way to go, and nothing has been guaranteed. But we are still fighting, still asking questions and still making sure service users’ voices are heard.
