Save NOBTS ELC!

The Issue

We, the undersigned parents, guardians, teachers, staff, alumni, and concerned community members, are writing this petition to express our heartfelt concern regarding the proposed closure of our beloved Early Learning Center. NOBTS ELC has played a vital role in our community for many years, providing invaluable care and nurturing for our children while instilling Christian values and principles; it has become an essential part of our lives and the lives of our children in their formative years.

The potential closure of such a cherished institution would have a profound impact on the children, parents, caretakers, teachers, and staff. The proposed closure timeline would throw our community into turmoil. Teachers and staff would have very little time to find adequate employment to replace their lost jobs creating financial uncertainty in many lives. Furthermore, the process of securing a spot in a New Orleans daycare facility can often be a challenging journey; waiting lists present a poignant hardship for parents seeking to provide the best care and early education for their children. This process can often take months, if not years, to secure a spot in a reputable daycare.

We acknowledge the financial difficulties that NOBTS ELC is facing. However, we firmly believe that its existence is crucial for the well-being of our children for the spiritual enrichment it provides. In light of this, we humbly propose a solution that reflects our unwavering commitment to preserving this essential institution.

As parents and caretakers, we are prepared to make a sacrifice for the greater good. We propose to voluntarily pay an additional amount per month in tuition fees to keep ELC open. This pledge signifies our dedication to the continuation of this sacred place, where our children are not only nurtured but also grow in their faith. We consider it a small act of Christian stewardship, demonstrating our shared responsibility to maintain this haven of education.

The teachings of Jesus emphasize the importance of caring for one another, especially children. We firmly believe that ELC embodies these teachings by nurturing young hearts, minds, and souls in their faith. We pledge this additional tuition fee as an act of faith and a demonstration of our commitment to the core values instilled in our children here.

Additionally, we are committed to working collaboratively with the board to explore options for financial sustainability, such as fundraising efforts, partnerships with local businesses, and potential grants. By coming together as a community, we believe we can secure the future of NOBTS ELC and ensure that it continues to provide exceptional care and education for our children.

We kindly request NOBTS to consider our proposal as a gesture of solidarity and sacrifice for the sake of this cherished institution. We believe that with this tuition increase we can secure the future of ELC in our beloved community and allow it to continue its mission of nurturing young souls with love and guidance.

In conclusion, we implore you to consider the deep spiritual significance of ELC and our sincere willingness to make a financial commitment for its continuation.

“Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.” Proverbs 22:6

Sincerely,

Parents, Guardians, Children, Caretakers, Teachers, Staff, Alumni, and Community Members of NOBTS ELC.
