For me and many others in Somerset, Clarks Village is not just a shopping destination; it’s a community hub. Stores like NEXT are integral to our local economy and social structure. When I first moved to the area, I found comfort in the familiar faces of store staff and the variety of quality products NEXT offered. The idea of losing this store is heartbreaking, not only for me but for hundreds of friends and families who rely on it.

NEXT provides more than just retail clothing. It offers jobs to local residents, many of whom have worked at the store for years and establish connections with customers who visit regularly.  This news means that  NEXT closing could result in the loss of over 50 jobs. Shops like NEXT maintain steady foot traffic and revenue when supported by loyal local communities. It is estimated that if NEXT were to close, there would be a decline in overall footfall to Clarks Village, affecting nearby businesses as well.  For many families, especially those with children, having a trusted store like NEXT is vital for seasonal shopping needs that other outlets simply can't serve.

I urge the management of Clarks Village to recognise the significance of this store to our community.
