The issue

For over four years, residents of Werribee, Victoria, have witnessed something truly heartbreaking — dogs kept in poor, unsanitary conditions behind the locked gates of a business on Riverside Avenue. These animals appear sad, neglected, and left to suffer without the proper care, love, or attention they deserve.

Some of the distressing conditions reported include:
– Green, stagnant water left for drinking
– Heavy matting and dredlocks around their necks and legs
– No proper shelter from the harsh sun or rain
– Collars too tight to be comfortable
– No visible food

Despite repeated reports to the RSPCA and Victoria Police, no meaningful action has been taken. It’s devastating to see animals used solely to guard a business, with little regard for their wellbeing.

This is not just an animal welfare issue — it’s a reflection of our community’s values. We have a collective responsibility to care for those who cannot speak for themselves.

We are calling on the local authorities to step in and work toward the safe surrender of these dogs, so they can be rehomed into caring, compassionate environments. They deserve a life beyond confinement and neglect.

Please sign and share this petition to urge immediate action. Together, we can give these dogs the future they’ve long been waiting for.
