The board and superintendency heard us, and MPS music education will remain intact for the next school year, thanks to everyone joining in to advocate and overturn the original decision. Between this petition, emails to the board, and the sheer attendance at the meeting last night (partnered by such beautiful speeches from students, parents and teachers), we were able to make a difference and make our voices hear. I loved that the kids there were able to see this!

But the work is NOT DONE - this is just temporary. With vouchers giving charters over 1B of our tax paying dollars and low enrollment, we need to stay vigilant and work with teachers (both specials teachers and classroom teachers), administration, and the board to find a way to cement this choice. Clearly, Mesa Public Schools has a legacy, and means something to all of us...so we shall keep fighting to preserve and protect it.

Thank you all!!
