Mr. Carropoli is currently a music teacher at Sayville Middle School and due to recent cuts in the budget, his position is threatened. This cut would be a major blow to the entire Sayville Music department. Mr. Carropoli has made a lasting impact on so many people across the middle school and the high school, not just as a teacher but as a role model. 

The Sayville music program is very strong, and part of the reason why is because such a strong community has been fostered here. Music has a unique way of bringing people together, creating bonds that go beyond the notes on a page. In Sayville, this sense of community is what makes the program truly special—students support each other, grow together, and share in the joy of creating something meaningful.

Mr. Carropoli is a key part of that community. The reality is, there are many teachers who put nowhere near the amount of work in as he does, and it is a grave mistake on the part of the board to let someone like him go. We must be thinking about the future of our programs, and as we see declining numbers in music enrollment it is imperative that we don't cut a teacher who has done so much to build this program.
