Dear Parents, Carers, Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, and Friends,
I am very sad that we are having to share this news so soon, but I wanted to let you know about a new children’s book I have been creating: “Mo and the Missing Colours - journey the Rainbow Bridge” This book has been written to help children approach grief in an appropriate and gentle way, exploring the different stages of grief while remaining comforting and hopeful.
The story follows Mo, our much-loved tabby, and guides young readers through feelings of sadness, anger, and the sense of unfairness that comes with losing someone important. It ends with a hopeful message, including the unveiling of a statue of Mo, to which everyone is warmly invited.
In the coming weeks, I will also be visiting a few local schools to give the children a chance to vote on the pose for the Mo statue — there are four designs to choose from, and it will be wonderful to see their input reflected in the final statue.
A hardback copy of the book will be available exclusively from the “Mo Newtongrange” Facebook account, and the book is due to be released next Friday, 27th March from Pastel Bakery - Newtongrange Main Street, making it a perfect story to share with your children over Easter.
Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has donated to the crowdfunder to help bring the statue to life — your support means so much and is helping to celebrate Mo’s memory in a meaningful way.
Thank you all for your continued love and support.
Warm regards,
C.J.
