The Sydney Harbour Federation Trust, responsible for historic Middle Head on Sydney Harbour, is planning to demolish Middle Head Café as part of an unprecedented proposal for new sports buildings. The proposal must be approved by the The Hon Tanya Plibersek MP, federal Minister for the Environment.

The Café was originally a military guardhouse and is still flanked by upright cannon barrels once used as gateposts.

For over a decade, Middle Head Café has catered to Trust tenants, Defence personnel, locals, cyclists, bushwalkers, aged care groups, and visitors. French-Australian hosts Dany and Christelle and their teenage sons provide affordable French-inspired food in a welcoming natural environment.

Dany, Christelle, their sons, and their customers are devastated by the Trust’s proposal.
