Thank you to everyone that helped create an amazing event on Sunday, with hundreds of Maribyrnong City residents, as well as park users from further afar, turning up in defense of their parkland. It's community support that keeps this machine running.
It is clear that our Catch-Up had a powerful effect on Councillors, based on the feedback I received. I believe our message is getting through, but can our Councillors defy the Maribyrnong City Council, and do what's right for the future of this city? That will depend on whether we have their backs. We are committed to making a public stand at the special Council Meeting on the 29th March at Braybrook, and we have the support to do it. I'm expecting every one of you to be there, along with our friends at the bowling club, the cricket club, and local CFMEU members, to help our Councillors deliver the good news for green space.
Remember that this campaign is not over until we secure McIvor's future with a comprehensive 'real' Masterplan that protects and enhances our park's natural environment and protects the interests of existing Reserve stakeholders who also don't deserve to be marginalised.
Hang in there. See attached flyer for meeting details.
