Due to delays in the delivery of the McIvor Reserve master plan, the final decision on whether or not to endorse the MCC's latest plan to build on parkland will go before our elected councillors in February 2023 (assuming no further delays). We intend to table the SAVE MCIVOR RESERVE petition in February's meeting. The Council's community consultation process appears to show the vast majority of residents are on the side of common sense and wish to see this infrastructure built on a brown site, NOT public parkland!  Check out some of the encouraging comments at https://www.yourcityyourvoice.com.au/mcivor/sport-upgrades . MCC has also listed the relevant documents for your consideration, including the master plan.

Thank you for your ongoing support. It's been a long busy year but we have successfully raised awareness of this issue in the community, which I trust will help deliver a democratic outcome. Inappropriate development at McIvor would almost certainly have gone ahead unchallenged if it had not been for the hard work of this community to get the word out. However, it's not over yet. Please stay engaged for a bit longer and help us see this through to March. Take the time to write to our seven councillors and tell them parkland is our priority in 2022.
