Yesterday mother earth smiled and we should too, with landmark judgement by honourable Bombay high court (HC) .

HC said all mangroves in the state are to be declared as protected or reserved forests, including those on land belonging to planning authorities like the City and Industrial Development Corporation (Cidco) and Mumbai Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (MMRDA).

The bench said that any ongoing construction work on mangrove land and its surrounding buffer zone must be stopped immediately. The bench also prohibited any dumping of construction debris or other waste on mangrove land.
