In Sector 17 and 19 of Kharghar Node in Panvel Taluka, Raigarh District there is a disaster in making by closing down wetlands in this area and CIDCO is sponsoring the same.

* Both the wetlands are extensions of the Taloja creek and connected to seawater and mangrove forests. And hence should come under CRZ I zones.
* Abundant evidence of water and the flora and fauna that can be found here (very rare species of birds from all over the globe come here) -

for pictures see:

* Both the wetlands are at significant threat from construction debris and other garbage filling them up and this is done with an order copy of CIDCO which does not even mention kharghar.

By dumping debris and construction waste the waterbodies are toxified and this will further affect underground water.

Agony is there is signage board by CIDCO themselves which prohibited dumping of debris.

 For pictures of encroachment see:

* Both wetlands are nature's gift to protect citizens in events of storms and flooding - as they make up a natural buffer zone between the creek and our buildings.

There have been tons of communication to all authorities to stop this illegal dumping and creation of toxics for future generation on deaf ears !!.

Please sign this petition to STOP this dumping in the ponds and request Wetlands Committee and CIDCO and Chief Ministry to take action.

Save citizens from flood and toxic created.

Please restore the wetlands and natural balance completely.
