Save Looney Tunes: Secure Their Place at Warner Bros Studio
The Issue
From cherished childhood memories to forging strong connections to animation as an adult, the influence and significance of Looney Tunes have been instilled in me and millions of other fans around the world. This type of art form tickles our funny bones, warms our hearts, and links us through shared experiences across generations and cultures. As a lifelong fan and supporter of this franchise, I am greatly distressed about the potential sale of Looney Tunes at Warner Bros Studios. This potential sale has not been confirmed or denied, but this petition will be brought forward if it does happen to show the amount of support that this franchise has.
Looney Tunes, beyond being part of personal childhood nostalgia, holds an immense historical value to Warner Bros. Studio, being an iconic and irreplaceable cornerstone of their repertoire. This pioneering animation has had a profound influence on Hollywood, shaping our popular culture since its inception in 1930.
Furthermore, animation is far from a dwindling industry or a forgotten form of entertainment. It is estimated that the global animation industry will continue to grow. This shows that animated content is still highly esteemed by audiences and brings significant revenue to studios.
We need to show Warner Bros. Studio the importance of Looney Tunes, to both the company’s history and its future growth in the industry. It is our hope and plea that Warner Bros. Studio would reconsider the potential sale of Looney Tunes and instead invest in ways to further evolve and maintain this animation's relevance in today's media landscape. The recent release of “The Day The Earth Blew Up” and the upcoming movie “Coyote vs. ACME” show that the animators at the studio cherish this franchise, as “The Day The Earth Blew Up” has received high ratings from both fans and critics.
Please join this effort to preserve Looney Tunes’ place at Warner Bros. Sign the petition today. Let's keep this aspect of our collective cultural heritage where it belongs - at Warner Bros Studio.
