Our petition calling for an overdose prevention service in the CBD has been signed by over 1,300 people!
We couldn't have come this far without each and every one of you.
We need to keep up the momentum…. Please help us by sharing the petition with friends, family and colleagues.
As Dr Marianne Jauncey, Medical Director from King’s Cross Supervised Injecting Centre said recently: “Open drug use (and overdose) is already occurring in Melbourne’s CBD with staggering frequency. Supervised injecting facilities respond to this problem by taking drug use out of back lanes, out of the public toilets and gardens, out of cars and car parks and placing it into health care settings where health professionals intervene and help.
If you don’t like public drug use, if you don’t want kids to see it, if you want to improve amenity, if you want to get people into treatment, then a supervised injecting centre is exactly what you want."
