I wake up with a clear mind and then I remember, my heart sinks and then I cry.
No one should have to go through this, I am living with the guilt because I placed her somewhere I thought she’d get the best support. Better than the support I was giving, especially as I was getting burnt out. I was so wrong and now I have to live with the consequences of that decision, this is why it is so important to Karl and I that legislation must be put in place so that these types of accommodation are monitored and inspected.
Again I thank every single one of you that has signed, shared and continued to do so.
Chanté was so much more than her autism, her language deficit or her mental health.
She was one of the most interesting and funny people I know when she was in a good place.
When she was well she was incredible, she could have ruled the world with her fire and intellect.
She really is a massive loss, not just to us but I honestly believe the world was a better place with her in it.
She will leave a massive mark however, we will make sure of that. Her passing will be the beginning of a change for the better, for everyone living as she did.
