Save Liverpool Street Station from destructive redevelopment

Save Liverpool Street Station from destructive redevelopment
The Issue
UPDATE:
The Liverpool Street Station Campaign (LISSCA) has serious concerns over Network Rail’s emerging new plans for Liverpool Street Station.
The latest plans, designed by ACME architects, show Liverpool Street Station and its neighbouring Grade II* listed Great Eastern Hotel dramatically overshadowed by a tall tower block built over the station. Daylight into the naturally light-filled station would be drastically reduced, and major demolition is proposed for the 20th century concourse which was built to the highest standards.
We believe Liverpool Street Station deserves better.
How to help:
- If you haven’t done so already, please show your support and sign the Save Liverpool Street Station petition. Share it with friends, family, colleagues, and your professional networks. #SaveLiverpoolStreetStation
- Pledge to the fundraiser, so we can take the legal fight all the way to the Secretary of State and halt these destructive plans: Click here to donate (£28k raised so far)
- A planning application from Network Rail is now live on the City of London planning portal. LISSCA will alert everyone who signs the petition on how you can object to these latest plans.
Thank you for your continued support.
The LISSCA Committee
London's historic Liverpool Street Station and the former Great Eastern Hotel (now Andaz Hotel) - Grade II and II* Listed buildings respectively - are threatened with destructive new plans by Network Rail and ACME that would see the ornate listed concourse roof demolished, and a tower to be constructed over the concourse.
A unprecedented coalition of heritage organisations fronted by Griff Rhys Jones OBE have joined forces to oppose the development as LISSCA - including The Victorian Society, SAVE Britain's Heritage, The Twentieth Century Society, Historic Buildings and Places, The Georgian Group, The Spitalfields Trust, Civic Voice, The Betjeman Society, and London Historians.
Sign the petition now and send a message to Network Rail that these damaging proposals must be scrapped.
