Just a short update to keep you all informed.

I spoke with a staff person at Vernon City Hall last week.  She told me that the first step is for Gord and Sandy (the owners of Lincoln Lanes) to approach Vernon's Manager of Real Estate, Brett Bandy, and make a request that the city purchase the lanes.

Gord tried calling on Tuesday, but wasn't able to reach him.  So, he sent an email later that day.  I haven't heard if Gord has a meeting with Brett yet or not, but I am hopeful it will happen soon.

The Vernon City staff person told me that if we weren't happy with Brett's decision, we could make a request at an upcoming council meeting.  She also said that I could submit the petition at any time to the City office and the council would be made aware of it.  

I would like to do that next week.  So, if you have a petition form, could you either return it to the lanes by Tuesday July 11th, or give me a call (my phone number is on the back of the petition form) and I will arrange to pick it up from you by Tuesday.  This would allow me to get the online petition combined with the paper pettions to City Hall before the end of next week.

Thanks for your all support.  I believe it is clear from the number of signatures and comments that the people of Vernon want to keep Lincoln Lanes operating for everyone into the future.
