Our petition has reached more than 19,000 signatures and has featured on the front page of the Evening Chronicle. 

We are pleased that there now appears to be a more balanced debate on this issue, particularly given that previous media reports stated that a new stadium will be built on Leazes Park. 

While there is support for a new stadium, there are also lots of people concerned by the prospect of losing part of an important green space.
