More than 6,000 people have now signed our petition in support of a referendum. 

The petition will be presented to Newcastle City Council for debate at the next city council meeting, which we understand will take place at Newcastle Civic Centre, on Wednesday 11th June at 6pm. 

Please put this provisional date in your diary if you would like to attend in support.

Meanwhile, we understand a new video, showing the proposed 65,000-seater stadium - on land currently part of Leazes Park - has been circulated with the Newcastle United Fan Advisory Board.

We understand that Newcastle City Council has close links with the Fan Advisory Board.
