Launceston leisure centre is set to close in January 2023. This valuable facility offers vital swimming lessons to local schools and children. The well attended classes and gym are a vital lifeline to those who wish to improve their health and fitness in the midst of an obesity pandemic. It also offers a lifeline to those who are lonely or struggling with day to day life, with a very social and friendly atmosphere. Exercise has been proven time and again to improve mental health. Cornwall is one of the most socially deprived areas in Britain and closing town centre facility is prejudice against those who cannot afford to drive or bus to the nearest alternative swimming pool (15 miles away). Please help us make Cornwall County Council reverse their decision to close it.
