The issue

Kato the Husky, a beloved member of the community, is in grave danger. After wandering the McCrae foreshore, Kato was finally caught and is now at the pound. However, he faces the heartbreaking possibility of euthanasia.

Kato's family has been tirelessly searching for him, doing everything in their power to bring him home safely. They have gone through tremendous emotional turmoil during this ordeal. Kato is not just a pet; he is a cherished family member and a friend to everyone who knows him.

The case of Kato is more than just about bringing a dog home; it is about compassion and understanding that every animal deserves a chance to live and be loved. Euthanizing Kato would be a grave injustice, especially when he has a family desperate to welcome him back.

There are alternative solutions that can be pursued. Instead of euthanasia, Kato can be placed into a temporary foster home while any legal requirements are processed. Additionally, rehabilitation programs can be considered to ensure Kato will not wander again.

We urge the local animal control authorities and the Mornington peninsula pound to reconsider their stance and work with Kato’s family to find a viable solution that allows Kato to return home.

Please join us in our effort to reunite Kato with his family and save him from the irreversible fate of euthanasia. Sign this petition now to make a difference. Let’s give Kato the chance to live a happy life back with his loving family.
