Hello everyone,

Th office of Mayor Quinton Lucas responded to my email asking for more eco-friendly road salt. They emphasize that eco-friendly road salts are much more expensive, and that they need to balance materials with cost. They noted how they plan to increase their use of Ice Ban, which is eco-friendly. However, I am sure that they still do not use 50% eco-friendly salt in quantity. I plan to follow up with more questions to the mayor's office.

Please do all you can to spread the word! It will certainly help to have a petition with many signatures to influence the mayor. Also, you could email Mayor Quinton Lucas at mayorQ@kcmo.org. Although eco-friendly road salts may be more expensive, it will make things better for our water supply, for our children's future, for the wildlife, and for the health of our earth!
