The Issue

Ancient Persian monuments were built thousands of years before modern politics existed. Sites like Persepolis, Golestan Palace, and Azadi Tower represent the history of a civilization, not the power of a government. Destroying them will not bring political change — it will only erase pieces of human history that belong to all of us.

For thousands of years, Persian civilization has contributed immensely to the cultural heritage of humanity. Ancient sites across Iran represent the creativity, knowledge, and identity of one of the world's oldest civilizations.

As an independent Iranian artist, nonprofit founder, musician, healer, and activist, I speak alongside many others who deeply love our homeland and the cultural roots from which we come.

Many Iranians support meaningful political change and the possibility of a better future for our country. However, there must be a clear distinction between political systems and cultural heritage.

These historical landmarks were built long before the existence of the Islamic Republic and have nothing to do with modern political conflicts.

They are symbols of Persian civilization, human creativity, and shared global heritage.
Destroying or targeting these monuments cannot be justified under the idea of regime change.

When cultural heritage is destroyed, humanity loses irreplaceable pieces of history that can never be rebuilt.
Our message to all parties involved in this conflict is simple:
If political change is the objective, pursue that objective without harming the ancient cultural heritage of our land.
Protect the monuments.
Protect the history.
Protect the identity of a civilization that has contributed to humanity for thousands of years.

Our Call to Action
We call on the international community and global institutions to:
• Ensure the protection of Iran’s historical and cultural sites during military conflicts
• Respect international laws that protect cultural heritage
• Prevent any targeting of UNESCO and historically significant sites
• Hold accountable any actor responsible for damage or destruction of cultural heritage
• Recognize that ancient Persian heritage belongs to humanity, not politics
Closing Statement
Regimes may rise and fall, but civilization belongs to humanity forever.
Protect Persian cultural heritage.
Protect world history.
