Save Hwyl outdoor sauna, Saundersfoot
The Issue
Two years ago, I embarked on a journey that was not just a business venture, but a dream fueled by passion and love for the community I am fortunate enough to consider home. Our beloved Hwyl outdoor sauna, has provided a sanctuary and a unique wellness experience for approximately 8,000 visitors. The serene location, offering captivating views and ensuring privacy, plays an indispensable role in the tranquil and therapeutic experience it provides.
Over these two years, our sauna has evolved into a vital part of this village's identity, contributing significantly to both local life and tourism. It's more than just a place to relax; it's a community hub that has garnered national attention, won accolades, and been celebrated in sauna literature. We've also taken steps to improve local facilities by successfully installing a freshwater shower on the nearby slipway.
Despite our contributions and the overwhelming support from both our loyal customers and the local residents, our application for permanent planning permission has been denied. This decision threatens not only the future of this cherished establishment but also all the positive contributions to brings for other businesses and local fund raisers.
Granting permanent planning permission is crucial for maintaining the sauna’s operational success and ensuring that it continues to serve as a beacon of wellness and relaxation. Such a decision would preserve the character of our village, allowing both residents and visitors to continue enjoying this peaceful retreat.
We passionately urge the planning authorities to reconsider and acknowledge the impact that their decision will have on our community, our guests, and the beloved sauna itself. Your signature can help convince them of the tangible benefits that our sauna offers and the collective sentiment supporting its permanence.
Please sign and share this petition to save our sauna and protect a vital aspect of our village's heart and soul.
Please also comment why you love the sauna!
