Save Hull Bay

The Issue

Hull Bay Beach has for generations served as a critical component of the fabric of the Northside Community and the broader island of St. Thomas.  The Virgin Islands Department of Planning and Natural Resources has proposed a plan, seemingly pushed by a self-interested developer, for a large parking lot and a substantially expanded boat ramp.  While the boat ramp is in need of minor repairs the local fishing community nor residents have requested nor endorsed a large ramp which would necessitate the destruction of local corals and trees and would divert tides, altering the beach forever (see Mandahl Beach).

The construction of the over-sized parking would also necessitate the removal of trees which provide shade, soil retention and add to the beauty and allure of the Hull Bay which has been loved and cherished for decades.

Let's save Hull Bay.
