The University of Huddersfield is cutting the staff of the Drama Department down, cutting the jobs of half of the department! They are changing the course from "Drama" to just "Acting" and all without warning. 

We would lose all production education, and drama and theatre education on our course, both vital elements in the practicalities of the arts. This is a course we have put years of time and student loans into. Not to mention vital members of staff who have put their entire heart and soul into a department that is being taken away!

A new Student Theatre Company has just been set up, we fear for its future without the proper education or staff. 

Theatre is NOT dead! It is vital, and strong, and the lifeblood of arts and communities.
