We, the parents, families, community members, and supporters of Hollywood Park Elementary, respectfully urge the Broward County School Board and Superintendent to keep Hollywood Park Elementary open and to consider alternatives to closure or consolidation.

Hollywood Park Elementary is more than a building. It is a community where children are known, supported, encouraged, and given the individual attention they need to succeed.

Many families have intentionally chosen Hollywood Park because of its smaller environment, dedicated teachers and staff, strong academic performance, and the sense of connection that can be difficult to find at larger schools.

For some families, this school has changed everything.

As a parent, I spent years juggling multiple schools, childcare costs, transportation, and the challenges that come with trying to find the right educational environment for my children. Finding Hollywood Park meant finally finding the kind of individualized education and attention I had been searching for.

Families should not have to lose a school that is working for their children simply because enrollment patterns are changing.

Hollywood Park has demonstrated academic success and continues to provide students with opportunities through STEM, robotics, mentoring, music, clubs, and other programs that contribute to a well-rounded education.

Closing or consolidating Hollywood Park would disrupt students, separate established school communities, increase transportation burdens for families, and remove an educational option that many parents specifically chose because their children thrive there.

We understand that Broward County Public Schools must address declining enrollment and financial challenges. However, we respectfully ask the School Board to fully explore alternatives before closing a successful neighborhood school.

We ask the Broward County School Board to:

Keep Hollywood Park Elementary open.
Consider alternative enrollment, boundary, magnet, program, or consolidation strategies that do not require closing the school.
Fully consider the academic, emotional, transportation, and community impact on current students and families.
Include Hollywood Park families, teachers, staff, and community members meaningfully in the decision-making process.
Our children deserve stability.

Our teachers deserve support.

Our community deserves to be heard.
