Good news - veteran Essex Oak tree 'Henry' WILL be protected during pylons construction

Following further correspondence with the pylons developers and their agents, Fisher German have said this about the veteran Oak tree 'Henry' at Rivenhall in Essex :

"We understand how important the tree, known locally as "Henry", is to the community. Following feedback from local residents and Braintree District Council, and informed by the findings of environmental surveys, changes have been made to the proposed design and Limits of Deviation in this area to enable the tree to be retained.

To help protect the tree during construction, an Arboricultural Method Statement will be prepared and agreed with the relevant local authorities before any construction work begins."

This is good news, but we also need to protect the group of Oak and Beech trees (see picture), planted in the C19th, which are next to Henry and are a known bat habitat and also support many bird species. Currently it is unclear as to how many of these trees are threatened by the pylon route.
