The post office at the Co-op at 152 London Road provides an essential service to Headington residents. Today's news that it is at the threat of closure in January 2026 is very troubling.

We are calling on the Post Office Ltd to ensure that post office services remain in Headington.

Labour councillors, campaigners, and Anneliese Dodds MP have worked hard to keep this post office open for many years. Trish Elphinstone first campaigned to keep a post office in Headington back in 2021, with her petition reaching over 1,000 signatures. We have set up a new petition to reflect the ongoing amount of community support for a post office to remain in Headington.

We all know how important local post offices and the banking services they provide are to our communities. Research from the Association of Convenience Stores shows that post offices are one of the most essential local businesses to people across the country.
