Although this shows the strength of opposition against the plan this does not count as an objection – that must be submitted on the Ealing Council website.

Here are some of the key reasons for objecting, please visitthe  Save Gurnell website for more information.

• Inappropriate development on protected Metropolitan Open Land (MOL) - London's Green Belt
• Environmental impact including Increased pollution, significant loss of trees (158 in total) and impact to local wildlife
• Increased traffic and inadequate parking (175 spaces for 599 units)
• Overshadowing - loss of daylight and sunlight (Peal Gardens, Ruislip Road East and vicinity)
• Loss of visual amenity (but not loss of private view)
• Development is overbearing, out of scale and out of character in terms of its appearance
• The size, scale and density of the building are excessive for this site
•   The amount of Affordable Housing being well below strategic targets – should be 50% on public sector land and only 12 family sized affordable units.
• Housing mix not line with the Borough’s needs – vast majority Studio, 1 and 2 bed properties
• Non-compliance with local, regional, and national planning policy
