The Issue

For over a decade, our family of businesses—Warehouse One Antiques, Lost and Found Antiques, and Century Antiques—has called Grand Rapids home. We have cherished every moment spent building these stores into thriving corners of our community, offering unique treasures and a warm place for collectors and local residents alike. These establishments have become a notable part of our small business landscape, contributing not only to the local economy but also to the cultural fabric of our city.

However, we now face the imminent threat of closure as the city is deciding if we can still occupy the building. This decision not only risks the livelihoods of our employees but also the vibrant history and culture that our stores have nurtured. Grand Rapids is known for its rich history and supporting small businesses, and closing these stores would be a step away from that commitment.

Our stores are more than just businesses; they are community meeting spots, places where conversations about our city's history take place, and venues where lifelong friendships have been forged. Many of our customers travel from different parts of Michigan to visit us, and their stories of finding meaningful antiques resonate in our hearts.

We understand that development is crucial for growing cities, but preserving local businesses should be part of that growth. We propose seeking alternative solutions that enable new developments while also retaining our cherished establishments. We believe that a balanced approach can be achieved by dialoguing with city planners to reconsider zoning changes or offer relocation assistance that keeps us within community reach.

We have faith in the people of Grand Rapids and in our capacity to protect what makes our city unique. We are calling on our friends, patrons, and concerned citizens of Grand Rapids to stand with us in keeping these beloved stores where they belong—in the heart of the community.

Sign this petition to urge city officials to decide in our favor and prevent the closure of Warehouse One Antiques, Lost and Found Antiques, and Century Antiques, and explore options that safeguard both our businesses and the city’s rich legacy.
