1) A lawsuit seeking to return the 130 acre ‘Grassdale’ parcel to the public is still active. As a reminder, this parcel carries state protections ‘guaranteeing’ that the land remain undeveloped and for public use in perpetuity.
2) Plans to privatize and develop 20 +\- riverfront acres of the state park are underway. This parcel carries federal protections in the form of a 6F designation which must be removed before sale and development can begin. Plans include a marina, 130 townhomes, restaurants, bars, and shops.
Land designated as a state park and carrying protections that guarantee it to remain undeveloped and in the public domain forever should never have been sold without the public’s knowledge or consent!
