The County held an online public information session on January 20, but there was no opportunity to ask questions or provide feedback that evening. They would not even show who was attending the meeting. At the session, we were glad to hear they announced a reduction in the scope of the project. Unfortunately, as currently proposed, this project will still waste taxpayers’ money to destroy critical habitat in a county park! Since the meeting, they have announced they will postpone the project until the fall. This will hopefully give us time to ask the county to stop the project as proposed. If you would like a yard sign, please email me at savefhwp@gmail.com. We also have an opportunity to help pass legislation in Maryland that will help prevent destructive projects like this. Please visit our website, savefonthillpark.org, for more information. Witness sign-up and testimony for SB688 is this Friday, Feb 27 from 8am to 6pm ONLY.
Thank you!
