Fanshawe Pool and Gym is once again under threat of closure. The centre is located close to a river that runs through the town and has a large swim scheme teaching those in the community the life skill of swimming.  It provides a place for local schools both mainstream and SEN to take part in swimming lessons.  It has a popular gym used by the local community.  The centre is also home to Ware Swimming Club who celebrated their 90th birthday this year and has almost 200 members.

Fanshawe absorbed a large amount of members following the closure of Ward Freman.  As a community we cannot stand by and see more of our services being cut as the town continues to develop. The closure of Fanshawe would be a major blow to our community and we urge the council to find the funding to keep it open.
