The Issue

My husband, sister, and I run a bakery, Et Voilà!, in a small mountain town in Colorado. As French immigrants, we wanted to share our love of French baking with our community and provide financial support to our Christian non-profit.

But our bakery’s future is in jeopardy. Unfair local zoning laws are forcing us to remove the trailers that house our office, test kitchen, and living quarters off the property, shutting down our business and taking away a cherished part of our community.

Please help support this community staple and our family’s livelihood. Sign our petition asking zoning officials to save our small bakery and help us keep Et Voilà open!

To help make our dream a reality, we sold our home and put the proceeds towards opening the bakery. We knew living within walking distance would be critical for our success. We bake our goods fresh every day and often start work as early as 1 AM. Colorado winters are harsh, and roads in our mountain often close with several feet of snow. Keeping the bakery open during the winter would simply be impossible if we lived further away.

The trailers we purchased were placed on this property as a temporary solution until we could afford to buy land close by. We cannot yet afford an alternative living arrangement, and we told zoning officials that removing the trailers would put us out of business and bankrupt us.

We’ve been trying to negotiate with the zoning division for nearly a year. They’ve refused to budge.

We’re not giving up fighting for our bakery. This is our American dream. Our bakery supports our family and faith values, offering a small taste of French cuisine to our community, and every month, donates to local non-profits.  We’ve been so encouraged to see our customers and neighbors standing up with us … but we need more help.

Please sign our petition to support a small, family-run bakery, fight for our community, and save Et Voilà!
