Save Enfield Now - Prevent the construction of new town 'Crews Hill and Chase Park'.
The Issue
Due to urbanisation across Enfield , areas such as Southgate have lost their heritage and culture. What once was a rural town with sights of beautiful greenery has become a concrete nightmare . Flats surround the town centre making it look like a factory hub, the overpopulation brings pollution and covers the town high-street in rubbish. As well as this , urbanisation has destroyed the peaceful lifestyle of Enfield and has now brought :
>Loud noise pollution
>Crime and violence
>Unpleasant sceneries
>Disconnected communities
>Heavy congestion.
However some parts of Enfield are still free of this virus such as Crews hill which is still a wonderful area to visit, with garden shops , green fields and traditional pubs. The new national urbanisation plan will destroy the last hope for Enfield. But you can stop it , so please save Enfield and save our home.
Protecting Enfield’s rural landscape isn’t just about preserving open fields it’s about protecting a future for our children. These green spaces give young people room to breathe, explore, and connect with nature as well as connecting with Enfield's heritage and culture . They are places to play, learn, and grow not just land to be built on. Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. Saving our countryside means giving the next generation a healthier, happier, and more grounded start in life.
The council must realise that this project is far to big to take place in a green belt small town such as crews hill. Where is the town planning infrastructure to support this massive development ; Doctors, hospitals, maternity services are all in crisis now so where is the extra capacity going to come from. There are many other spaces across London to support extra housing like restoration of derelict factories.
Luckily , the road I live on still has a connected community. So when talking to residence who have lived in Southgate for decades , I noticed one thing that unfortunately left every persons lips .Before Southgate once was an open suburban and relaxing neighbourhood where anyone could get the chance to breath that crisp fresh air , but over the years it has slowly fallen into and urban nightmare. There is no open spaces to relax outdoors and breathing is more likely going to give you asthma from all those horrible car fumes. Saving the rest of Enfield is the last chance we have for our area to remain as a peaceful land, so join us and help Enfield thrive , not decay.
