The Issue

Three years ago, we poured our heart and soul into launching our food trailer in Liverpool, a venture that has become the lifeblood for our family and many others like ours. Our trailers have not just been small businesses providing sustenance to our families; they have been community hubs where locals gather to enjoy meals, create memories, and build friendships in a delightful outdoor setting.

However, recent changes in Liverpool council's block regulations now threaten our livelihoods. These new rules, which were unexpectedly implemented, compromise our ability to operate on the very blocks we've been serving faithfully since day one. The community we have built alongside our fellow trailer owners is at risk of disappearing, leaving a void where vibrant interactions and delicious meals once flourished.

The council's new regulations seem indifferent to the economic and social contribution our trailers have made. According to the Liverpool Small Business Association, food trailers in the area contribute significantly to the local economy by offering employment and retaining consumer spending within the community. The vibrancy and dynamic environment we provide are not replicated elsewhere, making these settings unique assets to Liverpool.

Our appeal is simple: we urge the Liverpool council to reconsider the recent changes and permit us to continue operating as we have. The block requirements should be revised to reflect a compromise that acknowledges the contributions of food trailers, without enforcing unnecessarily restrictive measures that could cripple small local businesses.

We propose meetings between us food trailer owners and council representatives to collaboratively explore solutions that accommodate both regulatory needs and the operational realities of our business. Constructive dialogue will ensure that the council's objectives can be met, without sacrificing the rich community culture that our trailers have fostered.

We need your support to amplify our voices. Please sign this petition to urge the Liverpool council to reinstate favorable conditions for our food trailers, thereby preserving the unique culture, community spirit, and economic vitality they imbue upon our city.
