Save Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre

Save Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre

The Issue

Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre lies in the North West of Edinburgh and has provided services to the community since it opened in 1995.

Some of our services include junior youth groups, senior groups, parent & toddler groups, volunteering opportunities, gardening/food growing activities, adult education classes, fitness classes and cooking groups.

Since opening, core funding was provided by the City of Edinburgh Council.  In 2019 however, a decision was taken by the Council's Children & Families department and the Edinburgh Integrated Joint Board not to provide any further financial support to the Drylaw and Telford Community Association.

Despite pursuing other sources of funding (with some success), it
sadly does not meet the core funding requirements of the centre.

We are the the only Community hub in our area and without financial support, the Drylaw Neighbourhood Centre will close in July of this year (2022).

The implications will be devastating and are not limited to -  social isolation, mental health deterioration,  lack of facilities for children, increased youth anti-social behaviour and health and social care implications.

Please support our campaign by signing this petition, contacting your local councillors, MSP's and MP's and calling the centre on 0131 315 4989 for a SAVE THE DNC pack.

Thank You
