Hi all,
It appears that the food trucks affected now includes Kami, which is located at 33rd and Market outside the Hagerty Library. This brings our list to four trucks, but there are likely many more that are affected.
Please amplify this petition, and share with as many media outlets as possible! If anyone has a connection to the Philadelphia City Council, it would be appreciated. The closure/relocation of these trucks will be extremely detrimental to campus life, as well as these beloved small businesses. Please keep posting your stories and graduation pictures outside the trucks - they are not going unheard.
The Triangle, our student paper, wrote an article about this situation and the history of Drexel's fight against food trucks - I think it's important to read and share: https://www.thetriangle.org/news/petes-little-lunch-box-close-drexel/
As of right now, there has been no response from Drexel University aside from the statement given to The Triangle. I would also like to note that I am not associated with these food trucks/businesses, but a passionate food truck enjoyer who had their life changed by a BEC w/ketchup from Pete's after I failed my CS final. If any organizers/business owners want to collaborate and take charge of this petition and movement, and are more equipped to do so, please leave a comment on the petition and I will reach out. Thank you!
UPDATE: I also saw that there's a "Donation" feature after you fill out this petition - THIS GOES TO CHANGE.ORG, not me/us. I believe it's so they can promote it on their website. Please do not feel inclined to donate as I have absolutely no control over where this money goes.
