SAVE CROUDACE BAY DOG PARK

SAVE CROUDACE BAY DOG PARK
Why this petition matters

Lake Macquarie council is proposing to drastically reduce the available space for us to use as off leash areas and to prevent us from using remaining spaces on leash
They plan to ban the use of the shared walking paths on lead and the circuit route to all off leash dogs.
This park has been used by dog owners for over 20 years and it remains one of the few off leash areas in the LGA that provides level paved pathways to walk free with our dogs.
Their proposal is remove the timed morning and afternoon sessions for the whole park , and provide us a small section of grassed area, with no paths, shade, water or seating to be used at all times. Access to the lake will be restricted to an area with no visual supervision possible from the new area.
Our three main areas of concern:
1. The dog park access times should not be changed, and we are requesting that they keep the current access hours
2. The size of the current dog park should not be reduced.
3. In recent months, we've noted the flooding of the large open spaces, including the proposed new dog off leash area, which is completely in appropriate for current users.
If you love your park and the freedom that we have as dog owners, please submit your objections to the council
