Received a positive phone call from the Village Manager. She informed me that they are doing research on the situation and will be sending something out to the board in addition to talking to board members.
She sounded positive that we could come to a middle ground, but advised me that the
- HOA would also need to approve and
- I would have to get a license from the state of Illinois.
She did state that they would not allow me to have 11+ dogs at one time in my house. I suggested an average of 7 (the normal allowed dogs in a house is 5 for anyone) during the week and the normal 5 that I can have for boarding. She will be calling me again early next week for another update.
I will state that the Mayor approved my initial business model which was basically 1-2 dogs boarding and no daycare. I didn't start doggie daycare until 2020 as a result of Covid, losing my job and going full-time with Cozy-Pawz. So, as I've grown and been successful, things are a lot different now then they were in 2018.
Keep fingers crossed and keep praying. It's not going to be a slam dunk by any means but I think we can have a positive outcome for everyone involved.
Thank you again for all the support!
