Save Cincy Urban Farm: Stop Sharonville from Shutting Down Our Community Farm Store
The Issue
We, the undersigned, call on the City of Sharonville, Ohio to allow Cincy Urban Farm to continue operating its small, self-serve farm store at 3549 Creek Road.
For the past four years, Cincy Urban Farm has served our neighborhood by providing fresh, local, and affordable produce — grown right here in Sharonville.
Unfortunately, after 4 years of operation, the City of Sharonville has informed us that, due to zoning regulations, we must shut down the farm store — and we were given less than 48 hours to do so.
We’re appealing this decision, because this farm store is too important to our community to lose. With thousands of small farms closing nationwide, it’s more important than ever to support urban farms that bring fresh, local food into our cities.
This farm store has been:
A trusted local food source for residents seeking fresh, healthy, chemical-free produce.
A community landmark that teaches the value of sustainable urban agriculture.
A zero-impact, self-serve shop with no traffic or noise complaints.
Now, after four successful years of operation, the City of Sharonville is ordering the farm store to shut down, claiming it violates residential zoning restrictions — even though Ohio law (ORC 519.21 and 3717.22) protects the right to sell farm products directly from the farm.
We believe this decision is unfair, unnecessary, and contrary to the community’s best interests.
We, the community, respectfully request that:
The City of Sharonville allow Cincy Urban Farm to continue its small farm stand as a permitted or conditional use.
The city recognize the value of local agriculture and work collaboratively to support — not punish — urban growers.
The city uphold the intent of Ohio law protecting farmers’ rights to sell products grown on their own land.
Why It Matters:
This isn’t a commercial business — it’s a farm-based food access point that strengthens food security.
The farm has operated peacefully and responsibly for four years with full community support.
Closing it would set a dangerous precedent for other small farmers and local food producers across Ohio.
Add your name if you believe Sharonville should:
✅ Support local farmers, not shut them down
✅ Protect community food access
✅ Preserve green space and sustainability initiatives
Together, we can keep Cincy Urban Farm growing — for Sharonville, for Ohio, and for the future of local food.
